Lettuce to debut Mexican concept in Las Vegas
One of the oddities about the Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises restaurant empire is that, for all the various concepts the company operates, there isn’t a single Mexican restaurant, at least not since Hat Dance was closed many years ago to make room for Nacional 27 (given N27′s longevity, not a bad move).
Well, all that will change sometime in the middle of March, when Lettuce unveils an as-yet-to-be-named Mexican concept.
It will be an informal cantina and taqueria with a mesquite-fired wood grill, and a fairly traditional menu that will feature organic chicken and gulf shrimp. The beverage program will include housemade sangria and “out of this world” margaritas. And for folks in a hurry, a walk-up taco stand up front will let customers grab and go, street-food style.
There is a catch. The restaurant is opening in Las Vegas, on the site of Lettuce’s Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba outpost on the Vegas strip. That restaurant will close on February 15 to make room for the new concept.
